Shirley Leines, 71 of Wagner
Her funeral service will be 10:30 Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Wagner Community Church, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, followed by a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church.
Shirley JoAnn Leines, daughter of Ivan and Wanda June (Palmer) Irwin, was born April 15, 1943 in Bellvue, NE. She died peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 5, 2015, after suffering for many years with COPD.
Shirley attended school in Ravinia. She married James Marvin Leines on October 8, 1960 at Lake Andes. Their marriage was blessed with four children. They lived in Armour and then moved to Wagner in 1974. Shirley and Jim were owners of Napa (Wagner Auto Supply) for 36 years and then Valley Pump and Casino for 13 years. They were selected as the Honorary Labor Day Parade Marshals in 2012.
Shirley was a member of the Wagner Community Club, Life Line, Red Hat Society and the Wagner Community Church.
Shirley loved spending time with family and watching her grandkids. A highlight for her was always Christmas - decorating for it and watching her loved ones open their gifts. Shirley was an amazing cook and loved to bake with her granddaughters. One never had to wonder what Shirley thought, because she would tell you. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband, Jim; her children and their families: Tim and wife Ruth and son Noah; Berlinda "Missy" (died in 2010) and husband Jay Wunder and sons Jordan and Justin and wife Ruth and their sons Michael and Timothy; Tami and husband Aaron Hanson and daughters Madyson and Courtney and her daughter Lilyanne; and Tracy and wife Lucy and children Kade, Brennan, Abriana and Emmalyn, all of Wagner; two brothers: DeLayne and wife Carol of Corsica and Darvol of Tyndall; sister Sharon (died in 2010) and husband Dave Lile, all of Wagner; and many relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Missy on October 19, 2010; her parents Ivan and June Irwin; sister Sharon Lile on August 19, 2010; and parents-in-law, Marvin and Nina Leines.
