Smith Jandreau, 86, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Wagner
Funeral services were 2 PM, Thursday, January 13, 2013 at the YST South Housing Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Dante, with military honors. Wake services began Tuesday at the gym. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Smith Jandreau "Ta Maphiya Ko Kipapi" was born March 11, 1926 in Dante, SD to Stephen and Adelia (Whipple) Jandreau. He died December 29, 2012 having lived 86 years, 9 months and 29 days.
Smith served in the US Army and Air Force in WW II Korean Conflict from July 25, 1944 to June 23, 1946.
He married Cecelia (Wells) Jandreau and from this union seven children were born: Delilah Mesa, Marilyn Vega, Louis Jandreau, Monica Valasquez, Julian Jandreau, Shari Sandoval and Dana Jandreau all of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Mary, Lucille, Edith; his wife of 16 years; two sons: Douglas and Julian and a daughter, Deborah.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Jandreau Flute, his seven children, many niees and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Smith will be greatly missed. He enjoyed baseball, horseshoes, playing pool, traveling and walking.
