Holiday
May 23, 1975 – July 31, 2015
Solomon Holiday, 40, of Marty
Solomon died Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home in Marty. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Marty High School Gym in Marty. Burial was in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Solomon T. Holiday burst into this world May 23, 1975 to Claudette Holiday and Terry Provost in Wagner, SD. he was the feisty baby brother of two older siblings: his sisters: Victoria Lynn and Terra Rae Holiday, both of Lake Andes, SD. He was a family man; Sol was the proud father of eight children: Elias Archambeau; the twins, Trajan and Trevor; Tress, Good Little Eagle Boy, Constance, Promise and Jenaya Holiday. Sol was close to many of his cousins and he was raised with Morissia L. Holiday and Tammy (Holiday) Rangel.
Sol attended Marty Indian School most of his life and graduated in 1993. He loved sports, especially basketball, track and cross country. His love for sports allowed him to travel the world, such as England, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. His passion of sports was passed on to his twins, who he and the family proudly watched.
His love for sports went well beyond his school years; he watched and participated as long as he could. He also was a fishing maniac and went to the river every summer with his friends and family. Another sport, he couldn't get enough of, was shooting pool. He played in and won many tournaments. He loved to grill out and was an awesome cook (ask anyone!) He hosted many cook-outs at his home in Marty, SD. He invited everyone to come partake; if you were hungry, he would happily feed you.
Sol was known to be a great friend who would lend a hand wherever one was needed. His Holiday family was proud to say, he was called "BROTHER" by many. And they showed their overwhelming support to his children and family during this difficult time. Sol shared his life with so many people that his family cannot name them all, for they don not want to forget anyone. he will be greatly, greatly missed, but never, ever forgotten.
Sol was preceded in death by his daughter, Tressa Victoria Lee; his son, Good Little Eagle Boy; maternal grandparents: Charles and Gladys (World Turner) Holiday; paternal grandparents: Charity Kiyukan-Woods and Joseph Flying Hawk; his cousin, Alan Ray Holiday; his nephew, Avery Shyde Holiday; also Uncles, Aunts and cousins on both sides of his family.
