Stacy R. Nedved, age 48, of Wagner died Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with Brain Cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church, Wagner with burial in ZCBJ Cemetery, Wagner. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner and will resume one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Stacy Rae Nedved was born April 28, 1968 to Walt and Janis (Swartz) Nedved in Wagner, SD. Her first battle with cancer started at the age of 5 when Stacy was diagnosed with Childhood Leukemia. Stacy attended Wagner Community School, graduating in 1986. She started college at Augustana College and, after a year and a half, transferred to Northern State University where she achieved a degree in Elementary Education. Stacy started her teaching career substitute teaching at Marty Indian School, followed by a 24-year career at Wagner Community School teaching First Grade. Stacy was a cheerleading advisor for Girl's Basketball and Wrestling for numerous years for Wagner High School. Stacy contracted bacterial meningitis in 2010 but overcame it and returned to continue teaching. In February of 2016 Stacy learned that cancer returned and was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. Stacy retired from teaching in May of 2016.
Stacy enjoyed being with her family, working in her yard, reading and watching reality TV shows. Most of all she loved teaching her first grade students and took great pride in their accomplishments. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wagner; The Wagner Education Association in which she served as President; PEO, where she held all offices; and Delta Kappa Gamma, Tau Chapter. She was also a faithful attendee of Margaret Roberts Bible Study Group.

Left to cherish Stacy's memory are her father, Walt Nedved of Wagner; brother, Doug (Kamlin) Nedved of Thornton, CO; aunts and uncles, Dennis (Sue) Swartz of Custer, SD, Margo Nedved of Rapid City, SD, Joe (Judy) Nedved of Wagner and Agnes Nedved of Wagner; along with numerous cousins and many special friends.

Stacy is preceded in death by her mother, Janis Nedved on October 22, 2012; maternal grandparents, Emil and Thelma Swartz; paternal grandparents, Bessie and Ernest Nedved; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ann Nedved; uncles, Ernie, LeLand and Norman Nedved and aunt, JoAnn Efta.
