Terrence Joel Thornton was born to Margaret Thornton and Joseph Franklin on October 14, 1972. They lived in Yankton throughout his childhood and he went to Webster School. Then his mom and all of them moved to Wagner. He then went to school at Marty. He loved to play sports, especially basketball and softball. He then went to job corps in Nemo, SD. He went to school for brick laying. There he met Cindy Black and has a daughter Lucinda. After leaving job corps, he moved to Sioux Falls, where he worked many jobs, especially day labor jobs.
Terry was around his family a lot and his granddaughters. He was the one to always give his friends and family nicknames. It was crazy how he and his brother Troy were always doing that - giving people they just met a nickname! Terry also enjoyed being at the ball field to play or practice ball.
Terry will be missed by everyone.... his family, granddaughters, all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, fellow ball players, Aunties and Uncles. We sisters and brothers already miss you, brother!
Terry had three sisters: Barbara McBride and Cora McBride, both of Sioux Falls; and Deborah Thornton (deceased); three brothers: Theodore (Ted) of Yankton; Troy Thornton (deceased); and Jared Kezena of Greenwood. Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father.
