Thomas H. Aungie, 59, of Wagner

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial will be at the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Dante. Wake services will begin Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the gym. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner is in charge of services.

Thomas Harvey Aungie was born on August 1, 1964 in Chicago, IL to Evangeline Aungie. Tommy was raised by his grandparents, Tom and Emmeline Aungie on their homestead south of Wagner, SD. Tom died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Tommy attended Wagner Community School and received his GED. He attended Western Iowa Teach for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.

Tom returned home and worked as a Tribal Police Officer, Security at the YST Housing Authority, and Canku Teca.

He enjoyed listening to ole Rock & Roll and Powwow music. He loved watching the old country and western shows: Rifleman, Gunsmoke, and Bonaza. He was a gentle soul and will be greatly missed.

Tom leaves behind to mourn his cousins: Anthony & Michelle, Brenda & Keith, Rhonda, Delano Jr. & Pamela Aungie; and all his nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tom and Emmeline; mother Evangeline; and uncles: Delano, William, and Frank.
