Thomas (Tommy) Wayne Gullikson, 64, of Lake Andes

Thomas (Tommy) Wayne Gullikson, Black Horse Standing in Fire, died Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at his home in Lake Andes. Wake services were Friday, January 22nd at the American Legion in Wagner. Funeral services were 10 AM, January 23rd at the American Legion in Wagner. Burial was at the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, Greenwood.

Tommy was born in Garrison, ND to Ben Gullikson, Sr. and Arlene (White Arm) Gullikson on February 5th, 1956. Tommy was from the Ihanktonwan Nation on his Dad's side and the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation on his Mom's side.

Tommy was the 3rd oldest of twelve; one of six brothers and six sisters. His brothers were Sonny, Mike, Joe, Phillip, and Brent. Sisters were Debbie, Vonnie, Myrna, Barb, Karla, and Karen. He had many more relatives on both sides of his family.

All who knew him loved him, and those who walked on the sacred ground that surrounded him were grateful to the Creator for allowing Tommy to be here this long. We acknowledge and hold close to our hearts the many things he taught us and the gifts he gave us.

Our tears are for his empty chair; our smiles and laughter are for the journey he is making.
