Todd Gasper, 44, of Lake Andes

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M, Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Andes. Burial is in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes. Wake services will begin at 7 PM, Wednesday, at the Cedar Presbyterian Church, rural Wagner.

Beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, Godfather, and most of all, friend, Todd Gasper, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born on January 3, 1969 in Armour, SD to Donald Gasper and the late Catherine Chytka-Gasper.

Todd spent his K-12 years in the Andes Central School District, where he graduated in 1987. During those years he participated in various athletics, especially football and baseball. Upon graduation from high school, Todd attended the University of South Dakota for one year, and then he transferred to Mitchell Technical Institute where he received his associate's degree in Agri-Business in May of 1990. Immediately following his graduation from Mitchell Tech, Todd went to work for the Charles Mix Soil Conversation District. He was employed there for 18 years. In 2008, Todd took a job at the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Wagner as a Soil Conservationist.

Todd enjoyed first and foremost, the Kansas City Chiefs, even at their worst. Next was spending time with his family and friends, hunting, carousing, singing karaoke, cars, Nascar, food, and flexing. Todd will be remembered most by his laugh, sense of humor and practical jokes.

Todd is survived by his father, Donald Gasper; sisters, Denise (John) Brooks and Renae (Chico) Peters; nieces: Johna (Frank) Kern, Tootie (Chad Loeffler) Brooks, Candace (Elliot Milk) Dvorak and Katrina (Kevin) Talley; great-nephews and niece, Hunter & Ruger Loeffler, Markus & Nia Talley, and Isaiah Milk; adopted nieces and nephews; God children; Aunt Vivian Gasper-Carda (Denver, CO); Uncle Ellsworth Chytka and family; and Uncle Linsy Nelson and family.

Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Chytka-Gasper, maternal and paternal grandparents and great-grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
