Trudy Stastny, 68, of Wagner

Trudy died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Douglas Co. Memorial Hospital in Armour. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in the church cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner. Rosary/Wake services will be 7 PM, Thursday, at the church.

Trudy Ann Stastny was born October 27, 1943 at Rapid City, SD, the daughter of Wesley and Verda "Dode" (Johnson) Proks. She died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Douglas Co. Memorial Hospital in Armour. Trudy attained the age of 68 years and 12 days.? Trudy attended grade school and graduated from Tyndall High School in 1961.

Trudy married John Stastny on August 27, 1963 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Tyndall. She was a homemaker and together they farmed northwest of Wagner. Trudy entered the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner in October of 2010 and transferred to the Golden Living Center in Armour in March of 2011.

Trudy was a member of St. John's Altar Society.

Trudy will be remembered for her love of cooking and hosting. She also liked to play bingo and loved being with friends.

Thankful for having shared her life are her husband, John of Wagner; two brothers-in-law: Joe and wife Mary Ann Stastny and Tony and wife Donna both of Wagner; six sisters-in-law: Helen and husband Leonard Cuka; Dorothy Cuka; Agnes Kokesh; Rose and husband Dennis Koupal, all of Wagner; Ann and husband Jerry Wagner of Pierre; and Martha and husband Pat Uecker of Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Trudy was preceded in death by her two sons: Darrell as an infant in 1964, Kevin as a six year old in 1973; parents; mother and father-in-law, Helen and Joseph Stastny, Sr.; sisters-in-law: Alice Kokesh and husband Clayton; Mildred Cap and husband Victor; brothers-in-law: Richard Koupal, Edward Cuka and Edward Kokesh; nephew, Thomas Cuka and niece, Doris Kokesh.
