Virginia Deurmier, 90, of Wagner
Funeral services are 10 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial is in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 PM until 6 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Virginia Crete Stafford Deurmier was born on April 30, 1918, south of Wagner, SD, the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Black) Stafford. She died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner, SD. Virginia attained the age of 90 years, six months and 23 days.
Virginia married Walt Deurmier on September 28, 1936 at Lake Andes, SD. She resided in the area all of her life.
Virginia belonged to the VFW Auxiliary since 1971 and was a past president. She also was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Thankful for having shared her life are her children: Murel and wife Ione of Monroe, SD; Margie Moe and husband Ed of Libby, MT; and Robert and wife Shirley of Hilltop, MN; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Walt, son Dale, grandson Mark Deurmier, parents, stepfather and a sister, Betty Moor.
