Wade Zephier, 29, of Redwood Falls, MN, formerly of Greenwood, SD
Wade "Pretty Boy" Zephier, 29, of the Lower Sioux Community, Morton, and formerly of the Yankton Sioux Community died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. Visitation was held at the Community Hall on the Lower Sioux Community from 3 p.m. Sunday, October 18 until 9 a.m. Monday, October 19. Visitation continued on Monday, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Yankton Sioux Tribe South Housing Gymnasium in Wagner, South Dakota. Burial was held at St. Paul's Cemetery in Marty, South Dakota.
Wade Zephier, the son of Sherwyn B. Zephier and Lydia M. Neis was born May 18, 1986 in Marshall. He grew up in Minnesota and South Dakota. He graduated from Marty Indian School in 2004 and attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. He was employed as a chef at Old Chicago in Sioux Falls for three years. He loved cooking and the sport of basketball.
Pretty Boy is survived by his parents; children Braxton Maxine Nedred of Wagner, South Dakota, Alana Kiyukan of Sioux Falls and Wade Pretty Boy James Kiyukan of Sioux Falls; and siblings Glen O. "Chaske" Zephier of Wagner, Red Sky Zephier and Sherwin R. Zephier, both of Greenwood, South Dakota, and Marcel D. Zephier of Redwood Falls.
