William "Bill" Kuhlman was born March 25, 1908 in Hickman, NE, the son of George and Tina (Dirkson) Kuhlman. He died Friday, November 28, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner, SD. Bill attained the age of 100 years, eight months and four days.
Bill attended school through the eighth grade and spent his younger years on a farm southwest of Wagner with his parents, five sisters and two brothers. He married Margaret M. Mitchell on February 19, 1932 and they began farming on their own. They moved off the farm and into Wagner in 1950, but they continued to farm until 1972, when Bill began working for Dale Meyer for many years.
Bill and Margaret were blessed to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary in 2001. Although they had no children of their own, they were like parents to all of their nieces and nephews on both sides. They entered the Wagner Good Samaritan Center in 1997 and Margaret passed away May 5, 2001.
Bill loved to farm and was considered to be a good farmer. He thoroughly enjoyed working with farm equipment and machinery and loved to be in the field.
Thankful for having shared his life are many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; fives sisters: Minnie Fisher, Wobbie Ailts, Jet Ritter, Anna Ailts and Jenny Wallman; and two brothers: Louis and George Kuhlman.
